Will a claim to my auto ins. for a hit/run parking lot ding on my bumper raise my premiums? l?

  1. quite right! if it does then you're at the wrong insurance comapny. in past I have a similar case but i don;t have any raise in premiums from my ( http://www.rghins.com/ ) insurance company.


  2. Theoretically, no.  Practically, maybe.  See, you'd lose the no claims discount, AND, if you have a whole bunch of little hit and runs, even though they aren't surcharged against you, the 'total claim count' can allow your rates to be raised, or even have your policy cancelled.

    Plus, you have to weigh the deductible cost out of your pocket, against the damage repair job.  It's possible if the damage is small enough, that it will be under your deductible.  Collision deductible would apply . . .

  3. If it does you have the wrong insurance company. In the past 4 years I've had 2 claims ... 1 was my fault , the other was my son's ... both were on my car and cost thousands to fix ... my insurance hasn't gone up.
