Will a college accept me based on these grades?

I'm going into my sophomore year of high school, and lately really been thinking about how I want to go to college and get a good job. Last year was hard for me due to some emotional problems and problems at home, so I performed poorly at school. I got pretty poor grades most of the year, but got some A's and B's most of the time. This year I'm really going to step it up so I can get into the college I want. The college is about an hour away, and it's a really nice one. I've visited there a few times with my cousin, and he says it's a really great school. So I'm wondering, if I get, say, A's and B's for the rest of my time in high school, should they accept me? I'm going to try for straight A's as best as I can, but I'm sure there'll be a few B's along the line. Will this college likely accept me once I'm older?

  1. its not just based on your grades. if you plan on going to a 4 year college you need to have a good ACT and/or SAT score. but you can choose to go to a 2 year school for which you dont need to take those tests, then you can transfer over to a 4 year school. and the 4 year school accepts you based on the grades you made in community college.

a's and b's would be good but it doesnt just depend on that. your class rank is also important. if i remeber correctly and if its still like this, the top 10% can get into good colleges

  2. defiantly! just try hard and you can do anything you set your mind to! good luck

  3. I don't know what college you are talking about.  As long as it's not some Ivy League like Harvard or Yale, then you probably have nothing to worry about.  Unless of course your parent's are rich, in which case you have nothing to worry about.

  4. Sure why not, and if they don't you can always go to a community college and then transfer from there to the university of your choice.

  5. of course colleges look at all four years of high school but along the way as you do better your gpa goes up which is a very important part in your rank and if you are top ten you automatically get accepted!!!!!!!!!

  6. There will always be a collage even for horrible students. It will just limit the schools that will accept you. I hated school when I was in high school. I skipped class most of the time. I only took the classes that I had to in order to graduate. And I was excepted. You could always go to itt tech or something.

  7. dude, 90% of colleges don't care about your grades.  they just want your tuition money.
