Question:

Will a company turn me down for a job based on my employment history?

I am going for a Bachelor's degree in accounting and am worried about applying for jobs because of my employment history. I have quit many jobs in the past because I used to deal with an anxiety disorder that interfered with my job performance. I'm wondering if they will turn me down after conducting a background check and see that I have so many jobs in my past. Will they see past my bad employment history because I have achieved my bachelor's degree? Or will they reject me because I am so inconsistent?

  1. The best thing would be to acknowledge the period when you were ill by saying something like "Between date 1 and date 2 I was suffering from this disorder, which had a negative impact on my career path. I had difficulty in retaining jobs. I am  glad this is now behind me".

Nobody will blame you for being ill in the past.

    Good luck.

  2. I found a recent study relating to this on the investor website

    Heres the link http://www.invetsor.com

  3. Just tell them that due to your college scheduling you were forced to change jobs a lot.

  4. Didn't you just ask a similar question?

  5. I think that it is important that you can respond to any reasonable concerns that they might have about your job history. Usually when I coach people on recovering from problems in their past, I want to make sure that they know the importance of separating past from present (and even future).

On the other hand, in some cases, failure to disclose this information up-front only adds to suspicion later on-
