Will a digital converter box work in mexico?

I plan on going to mexico this summer and want to know if I could take a converter box

Mexico is switching to the same ATSC system that the US is using, so the box should work.

But Mexico's analog shutdown isn't until about 2022.  The first link has a list of cities with digital stations.

If you know Spanish you might google the TV stations near where you are going and see what they say.
