  1. come 2009 u will not be able to use your roof top antena u will need the convertor box no mater what or u have to get cable tv service or sattle light service the roof top antenna will be no good no mater what tv u have

  2. your flat panel will work with roof top antenna, but if the signal is not strong and stable the pictures will not be stable, especially on high def, some flat panels have digital tuners built in

  3. Like you, we use a roof-top antenna and I don't want cable. We recently purchased a 42" LCD t.v. (Visio at Walmart) and for most channels we receive regular feed and hi-def (for example, Channel 8 is NBC, 8-1 is NBC hi-def).

We also now pick up the ION channel and NBC's all weather channel (8-2).

We get NBC, PBS (4 channels of hi-def channels), FOX, CW all in high def.

ABC and CBS don't come in hi-def for us. We are looking at a digital antenna to see if that will help bring those in hi-def.

Phillips makes a DVD player that connects that uses a hdmi cable, which converts regular DVDs into hi-def (not sure if it is as good as Blu Ray or HD DVD, but it only cost $50 at Walmart and it is clearer than the regular DVD player)

  4. No, it will work and give you a far superior picture than

cable and it's FREE!!!!!!  no monthly bill!

  5. All antenna just pick up the signal out of the air, digital or analog. I am using an antenna & Satalite. The picture I pick up on antenna is digital & analog. The analog looks like what I had with cable, but the digital channels are great & closer to the High-Def (HD) channels I have on satalite. Also if you like to record get a DVD recorder with a digital receiver & you will pick up all the digital stations. Make sure it has a HDMI plug to go to your TV. You will have to buy the HDMI cord separate.

  6. If it has a built in HDTV tuner (which most do now) it will work fine.
