  1. hun i had a miscarriage in june and I'm 10 weeks pregnant on wednesday,

you should be having your nuchal fold scan at 12 weeks in a couple of weeks so you should see a nd here baby's heart beat then.

toys r us sell the Doppler's they are quite pricey and ive seen them in argos.

I'm in the uk and have my first appointment tomo and i know when i asked the midwife if she could hear the heart beat tomo she said no maybe 12 weeks but the baby is to small to try and hear it

  2. Using an ultrasound over and over again to reassure yourself is not a good idea. Too soon ultrasounds or too many ultrasounds can cause miscarriage or premature birth. In a few weeks you can go to Toys R Us and get a heartbeat microphone which does not cause any damage to the baby. If you are worried about miscarriage there are plenty of things you can do to help prevent it and have a healthier pregnancy and baby on the link below. Congrats and best wishes, G

  3. No. Dopplers don't usually work until the uterus has risen out of the pelvis, which is usually around 12-13 weeks. And even then, the cheap retail dopplers that you can buy don't work as well as the ones in clinics and hospitals, and women find they get more frustrated and freaked out much easier when they can't find the baby's heart beat.

IMO, saving your money and leaving the monitoring to the pros is the best idea. Good luck.

  4. I dont think it will work that early but it will work for sure at 12 weeks probably as long as you are not very overwieght.  I dont know where you could buy one off the top of my head, but my mom had one so I know that you can buy them...perhaps you can google it or call the local hospital supply stores in your area...congrats!

  5. Hi, I got one for my birthday (back in May) when I was about 4 months pregnant and it didn't work, I gave up using it but tried it again the other day and I can hear a faint heartbeat and I'm now 32 weeks pregnant. Whether thats mine or the babys though - I'm not sure.

So waste of time really, but I had heard that before I got one for my birthday and still wanted one! lol :)

Mine was the mothercare summer infant prenatal listening moniter. I'll post a link in the source box for you.

  6. I had the same issue a few weeks ago (Im currenting 14 weeks) I asked my doctor and she said so that I don't panic when I can't find the heartbeat to wait until I'm over 12 weeks and then buy one or wait until 20 weeks and just use a regular stethesope.

There is sites that you can rent dopplers by the month but I don't know about for the UK, all the ones I found are for Canada and the US.

    Good Luck :)
