  1. Yes, I did this once and it grew an extra set of wings! Amazing!!!

  2. I'm going to have to say No.

Hmm...a frozen fish might live, but

    I don't think a dragonfly would.

Or maybe it would change colours? 8D

  3. NO

  4. NO,

Frogs can survive if you keep them cold, but not if you totally freeze them.  Any animal can't survive that.  Because ice takes more up more volume than liquid water and almost all animals have water in their cells if you freeze them then the water would expand breaking the cells and destroying them on the cellular level.

So how can you freeze sperm and eggs?  Simple they are individual cells and therefore they can expand to allow for the ice and then contract when they are thawed.  Unicellular organisms are the only creatures that can be frozen and brought back to life after being thawed.  If you try to freeze any higher life form you will just kill it.

Cooling a creature slows down their metabolic rate; the rate of life's processes and so gives you more time to repair them.  Recently a Major League Football (US Football) player was injured on the field and his spine was damaged.  He was given a revolutionary new technique for treatment that involved cooling the body's temperature (by cooling the blood), thus allowing surgeons time to operate before the swelling caused permanent damage.

In the Discovery Channel Show 2050 this was one of the medical advances predicted to become common by the year 2050.

On an episode of ER a child fell into a frozen lake and was clinically dead, but not frozen.  They were able to re-warm the child and bring them back to life in time to save their life.  Even then it was a near thing.

  5. would you?
