Will a face mask like this (pic included) adequately protect me from the particulates in fireworks?

A lot of people blast off fireworks in my neighborhood on the 4th of July, and the whole area becomes blanketed in smoke. I try to stay inside where my air purifier is, but I realize even that isn't enough to fully protect me. Will wearing a Medline face mask like this filter out the particulates, carcinogens, and heavy metals? If so, how effectively?

  1. No this is primarily for dust only. You need a half mask with canister for fumes and toxic metals.
