Will a fairing protect me from gnats I would otherwise collide with as I ride my bicycle?

I've seen these fairings around, I think I'd like to get one with a semi recumbent bike but I'm not sure if it would protect me from the gnats. I hate gnats.

Yes, a fairing (windshield) will protect you from gnats. A fairing will also protect you from rain , sleet and hail, and even diesel soot from those dirty busses.
