Question:

Will a female American Bulldog fight with my other male dogs?

I have two male mutts, both neutered. One is 4 years old and the other 14 years. I have always wanted a bulldog and a friend of ours is willing to give us a female 6 week old American Bulldog for free. My only worry is that she will be aggressive with my other two dogs, I have never had a female dog or a bulldog. Do you think it is a good idea to take the puppy?

  1. You shouldn't get a puppy until 8 weeks old. If the American bulldog is socialized with your other dogs and other dogs in general she should be fine with your other dogs. My neighbor has an American bulldog and a pug (a spayed female and neutered male) they are great together. American bulldogs are great family dogs. I have four female dogs and they get along just fine. I wouldn't worry at all.

To the person above me all i could say is your a moron. She isn't even talking about an American pitbull terrier. Plus American pitbull terriers are WONDERFUL dogs.

  2. i have a bulldog/pitt mix, her dad was a purebred bulldog, and she is very aggressive toward my other female dog. shes never been aggressive toward my two males though. i think female dogs just naturally dont like each other, but since you have males you will probably be fine. plus shes a puppy which is a bonus because she will grow up around your older (im guessing well mannered) males. if i were you i would jump at the chance of having an american bulldog. ive always wanted a purebred. getting her spayed as soon as you can will probably lessen her chances of being aggressive as well.

  3. Yes. Its a PIT BULL.

They are responsible for 41% of the fatal dog attacks on humans while only making up less than 1% of dogs.
