We have a toy poodle(female) and a long hair chihuahua, when she was given to us we were told that she had already been spayed but recently they have been mating several times a day. It's just happened recently normally she doesn't have anything to do with the other dogs and we also have a pug that's male and he has nothing to do with her. I just wanted to know if its possible that she is not spayed.

  1. Once a dog is spayed their means of reproduction is removed and they will have nothing to do with a male doggie's p***s. I would probably take her to a vet and check to make sure she's not pregnant. If she is, it'll probably easier if you just have her spayed.

  2. You'll know in a few months....

It's possible the vet didn't get all the reproductive tissue out and she's still cycling with heat cycles, but if she was spayed properly the male would not be continually mating with her.

Mounting to show dominance doesn't turn into a full blown tie (mating).  Something is going on here.

  3. if she is in season, she would be swollen in her private area, and or bleeding.

if she is having any of these two visible symptons, she is NOT spayed,

therefore, i would report the person to the american kennel club, they will red flag the breeder and her business, for false information to you.
