Will a fire still burn in the rain?

If a house caught on fire because it was hit by lightning, would the fire still rage even though its raining?

  1. The water from rain is usually not strong enough to put out a fire.


  2. yes. the rain water will not be enough to put the flame out.

    i was burning some wood before it was raining and it started to rain. and it rained a pretty good bit. in the morning i woke up and the flame was still going.

  8. Yeah it would :) water doesn't put it out completely. Theres still the oxygen burning in the middle.

  9. it can as long as the rate of growth is faster than the rate of extiguishing may depend on a number of factors for example wind speed and direction, fuel type and quantity of fuel and any number of other factors
