Will a freeview recorder work ok with a tv that has already got freeview built into it?

My sister is thinking of buying a freeview recordable box, she has already got a tv with freeview built in, will the new box mess things up or will it work ok?? Thanks for any help.

  2. there is no reason why the tv's built in freeview would interfere, as the new box will connect via scart or other video connection and is completely separate to the tv's internal workings

  3. Yes you can i have a freeview TV but but only use my recordable box i found it gives a better pitcher as well! Just plug it in with a scat lead should work right away.

  4. Yes you can, I have both a freeview decoder in both my TV and in my hard drive recorder, I can use both at the same time to record digital freeview while watching a different digital Freeview channel.

    PS both my TV and recorder are Sony

  5. Yes, as long as you are using your freeview recorder.....you obviously cant use them both at once.

    The freeview recorder will plug into a scart socket in the back of your tv, therefore with cause no interference and will be on a seperate channel (scart)
