Question:

Will a freshwater crayfish eat baby fish? (i want it to eat them)?

i have too many guppies and they still continue to have babies.. will a crayfish do the job of killing the babies?? the tank i have is 60 gallons..

  1. Yes, but it will take a while.  And if you catch it wild it will probably contaminate the tank and kill everything in it.

    If you want something fairly small, try a betta, gourami, or paradise fish.  Virtually any cichlid will do, and small one are available that can't eat the adults.


  2. Well it deepens on the deit of the crayfish.

  3. The crayfish can only eat babies that swim by the bottom. In such a big tank, lots of babies will survive. You might consider getting some larger fish that will chase and eat the fry. Angelfish would be good, although pretty much any fish with a big enough mouth will eat the babies.
