Will a game cube game purchased in America work on an English Wii Console?

I have a Gamecube in America and a lot of Gamecube games, Recently I have purchased a English Wii Console and am thinking about bringing over a few gamecube games to play, will they WORK??

If you have a modchip that supports region patching, yes. Otherwise, only PAL games will work on your PAL console.
