This question would have been better in the pregnancy or TTC section, rather than adolescent where you're asking a bunch of teenagers.  Lucky for you, I'm not one and found this.  Home Pregnancy Tests (hpts) don't work right after you have s*x.  You have to wait until at least the first day of your next period to test, which is usually 14 days after the act you're testing for.  Good luck.

I tried one that said it was accurate after seven days. Each brand is different, just follow the directions in the box. To be more accurate try it at least 10 days after s*x. HcG is a pregnancy hormone that starts to show up by this time and doubles every day, not every woman has significant amounts in urine at the same time. You get the best results if you take the test 14-19 days after s*x.

If you look at the directions on the ept, you will find they recommend 10-14 days.  That's because the test determines the level of a hormone that is produced during pregnancy.  It takes a while for your body to produce enough of the hormone to show up on the test.

Implantation can take up to twelve days after fertilization, and there won't be any pregnancy hormones to detect before that happens. Which is why you should wait a minimum of two weeks to test. If you test earlier than that, you can get a negative result even if you're actually pregnant.

All in all, it's better to wait until your period is actually late.

I think they work after 7 days.... I could be wrong but last time I made such a test it was written there have to pass 7 days since the unprotected s*x till the pregnancy will show on the test
