Will a hospital/nursing home hire a CNA with a 3 year old misdemeanor?

I'm considering taking the training but I have had so many rejections due to a possession charge when I was in college I don't want to waste my money.

  1. Honestly, probably not... I'm so sorry! :(  I hope you do find something though and don't give up but I would definitely call ahead of time to see WHICH places will take you... so that way you don't waste your money.  I know some will.. and some won't.  It just depends.


  2. If you are up-front about it you stand a good chance.  It would look good also if you'd taken some sort of course/counseling as a result.   The smaller facilities, assisted living homes and such are more likely than hospitals run by big corporations with inflexible policies.  Good luck !

  3. A nursing home is your best bet- at least to start off in. Come clean about it on the application.
