I just turned 14 and I have way too much free time on my hands afterschool. I'm a major book nerd, so my mom said I should as about getting a job at a library so i could put money back for college. Do you think Irving Public Library would hire a 14 year old?

  1. Most people that work at libraries are volunteer. You can always call them and ask but don't hold your breath.

  2. Yes, actually in a library near us, there's lots of 14's year old that are hired mostly as volunteers for shelving books.

  3. If they cant legally hire you for your age then ask about "volunteer" work there. They would probably do that.

  4. all libraries are different but most dont really care about age since it is just at a library. i would go in and ask if they are hiring and explain that u are a book nerd and love books... this will make them more apt to hire u. best of luck!
