Question:

Will a lighter being flushed down the toilet cause it to clog?

I got up to pee in the middle of the night, got up and flushed. As the toilet was flushing, I pushed down on the soap despenser on the counter to wash my hands, the dispenser slipped and knocked the lighter right next to it right in the toilet during the flush! It was gone. I'm just worried that it is going to cause plumbing problems later on since we own our house. I've used the toilet a few times now since it happened, and no clogging yet. This happened to anyone?

  1. No.  It the clogging didn't happen right away, the lighter has gone to a better life downunder.

  2. No you are ok. If the thing was going to clog it would right away.  Buy a couple of lottery tickets your on a roll.

  3. a lighter should pass fine.

But, It may hang in some roots in the outside pipes and trap toilet paper later. Worse case scenario.
