Will a lightning or other supercharger fit my 2002 ram 5.9 360?

Just wondering because i would like to get a supercharger for less than $1000 because the bracket alone for a centrifugal style is $1000.

You won't be able to get a supercharger for that motor for less than a grand. To tell you the truth, you wont be able to get any supercharger for a ram for that price. I wouldn't soup up a 5.9. You'll be wasting your money. I have tried in the past, and the motors just really aren't that efficient. Hope this helps, good luck.

go to www.daota-durango.com. theres a few guys that run  superchargers on their 360 R/T  dakotas.  it can  be done but you need to get a custom  flash  to run  the supercharger right. you need to  upgrade the fuel injectors too. to  put more fuel in to the engine.  so yes it can  be done but theres a lot more to be done besides bolting a SC on.

Mikes right about the supercharger, but I have seen some noticeable performance increases by modifying the intake letting air flow through better, if you check it its probably leaking anyway.  Theres a plate on the bottom of the intake that bolts on and the seals leak often.  Spark knock could be a sign you have this condition.  To be sure you can look down the throttle body, engine off, plates open, with flashlight. Look for thick oil on bottom.   Be sure not to drop anything in whole. This could give you an excuse to go in. If engine is original she might be gettin a little old to be modifying though your call.

you can do it but your not going to get a good one for under 1500 bucks that will do any good and adding one to an older engine will take its toll on it,if i was going to do this id freshen the engine up before i did this,by the time you by the accessories that go with that to get everything to work right you,ll have more than a grand in to it,good luck.
