  1. Some ammo, especially military, is sealed against moisture and water, but any cartridge will be rendered useless if it remains submerged for long enough.

Oil actually soaks in more easily, so soaking in WD40 or any penetrating oil would work quicker.

  2. Not dependably.

    Bullets are pretty well sealed.

What you create is an 'iffy' round that might fire, and might not.

A very unsafe thing to leave lying about.

  3. Not all bullets will be disabled with simple water.  Many bullets are sealed with varnish around both the primer pocket and bullet to brass junction.  For normal civilian rounds the BEST thing to do is soak it in coal oil - sometimes sold under the brand name Kroil or Noil - coal oil is also know as 'creep oil' as it is one of the few oils that will climb up against gravity.

Most ranges have a small can/container of coal oil for dud 22's to be dropped into.

    Hope this helps.

  4. washing off the blood to save money? lol

it should be okay to fire

  5. wont be able to fire

  6. Primer in the case is going to be your main concern. Pull the bullet (with a bullet puller, of course), remove the powder, and soak the empty case in oil over night. This is still not a guarantee, however.

If you just don't want it any more most of the gunshops or police dept's in my local area will take it.

  7. What type of bullett?

    Brand name and cal please

  8. it should work, your main concern would be if water penetrated into the bullet itself. simply being in god water may not simply penetate the round. using ice cold water may build up condensation in the round thus rendering it bad. dont assume, simply cause theres some water penetration that the bullet wont work. half the powder could still explode still causing the bullet to fly.
