Question:

Will a metrebus ticket provide access to all subway and railways in Rome?

I will be staying in Rome this Fall. I've never been there. I know their subway system only contains 2 lines (Lines A & B). I am staying near Gemelli station which is off the FR3 rail. So from Termini I need to travel the A to Valle Aurelia transfer to FR3 and exit Gemelli.

Will a metrebus ticket provide me access to the FR3?

  1. There are different tickets...

The BIT (Biglietto Integrato a Tempo = Integrated Time Ticket) costs 1€ and will let you take for 75 minutes all the buses you want and in that lack of time just one trip on lines A (Anagina-Battistini) and B (Rebibbia-Laurentina) of the subway. If the 75 minutes expire while you are on the bus you will be able to end your trip.

The BIG (Biglietto Integrato Giornaliero = Integrated Daily Ticket) costs 4€ and will let you take all the buses and all the trips on lines A&B you want until 12am of the day you used the ticket for the first time.

The BTI (Biglietto Turistico Integrato = Integrated Touristic Ticket) costs 11€ and will let you take all the buses and all the trips on lines A&B you want until 12am of the third day after the day you used the ticket for the first time.

All these tickets are valid on the FR3 and you can use them.

Have a nice journey in rome.

  2. Metrebus ticket only provides you access to lines A & B and to the short-travel trains, such as the Roma-Ostia train and, as far as, for all longer trips you will need another ticket. I hope I helped you. Bye.
