  1. Generally birds have a very poor sense of smell.

I could go into all the anatomical stuff but suffice to say: Birds' brains are so geared for sight there's very little room for the sense of smell.

So, the parents will not stop feeding the baby if you've handled it.

Hopefully you ONLY handled the baby to place it back into the nest if it fell out.

    Otherwise leave the babies alone.

  2. no it won't it will abondone it and then it will die

  3. it depends on the species

  4. The first answerer is correct. Birds have a very poor sense of smell and it is just an urban legend that the mothers will abandon them if your scent is on them.

  5. Usually no

birds are scared of humans which is why they run away from you when you come too close.

so if you touch a baby bird chances are that the mother will not come back for it.  Maybe it will, but usually it won't.

  6. I dont think so i think that if the mama bird smells a human scent on any place near the baby it will not come back at all!! and mst likely the bby brd will die!!!:(

  7. It depends on how much human scent is on it and how long the was with the baby bird. If there is too strong of a scent on it then the mom bird probably won't feed it. If you are really worried about the baby bird, I would try not to go near the baby bird for a few days. If you know where the nest is I would try to put it back and wait for a while.

    -Best wishes
