Will a more expensive choice of rabbit ears get me better reception on my digital converter box for TV?

Ok,I bought one of the new digital converter boxes for my TV after getting rid of the Satellite because it was too expensive and everyshow I wanted to see was on some channel that the extended package didn't get.

However I am still getting some of the channels to come in choppy. They're a lot like when we would have a rainstorm or snowstorm and the picture would get all pixelated. I get about 41 channels and some of them are fairly boring like message only stations,but it's nice to have more channels than regular broadcast was giving me.

So I wanted to know since the $10 rabbit ears I got are working ok,but I'm still having some problems. My house has very solid walls.I am thinking if I buy one of the more expensive ones that supposedly work better to receive signals that are further away will I get the channels to come in more 100% more of the time?

You need to check one of the sites that determine what sort of antenna you need for your location (check the two sites in the source list below).

If you can manage to get an antenna outside the walls of your house, you'll do much, much better. You may also need a rotator if the stations in your area are at a variety of angles from your location.

This procedure will cost you more in the long run due to the fact that in 2009 all channel will have to be digital and rabbit ears wont get you as many channels. What i suggest you  might do is subscribe to a satellite service, for they are lowering their prices to attract more consumers to join before the big switch.
