Will a power supply that has a higher Amp count work on something that is lower?

I have a Capture card that requires 5 volts and 1.6 amps. However the only power supply that I can find for it Outputs 5 Volts and 2.5 Amps. Will it work Fine?

  1. i wouldnt do it because it might fry it. unless there is a converter inside ur capture card it might fry it


  2. It should work just fine.  The device won't draw more current than it needs unless it is broken.
