  1. just until it is full if they ate like that there would not be alot of rabbits in the world.

  2. only till they are full.

  3. bunnies eat till they are full. If you feed the bunny pellets, make sure you dont give them too much. a bowl in the morning is fine, when the bunny has fnished it in he evening you may ad some. Keep n mind pellets were originally made by the meat industry. They are grea for addition to their daily food but they need hey and fresh veggies too. Dont give hem any cabbage though and when you give the bunny a lot of lettuce, take away the water botte for a while for they can get too much water that way.

  4. when i first got my rabbit i asked the same question. If there is food infront of them they will eat it all! not until they are full. rabbits are pigs, like literally my bunny would eat until he dropped which is why he is on a diet. You need to monitor what they eat, it is fine to feed  them allot of hay because 80% of the diet is made up of it. But with pellets of mixes you need to give only about 3/4 of a cup a day depending on size. if you have a larger rabbit about a cup a day that is it! if you feed them too much it makes them sick.

  5. Your rabbit should quit eating once it is full.  The amount that makes it full will depend on the time of year and the energy level of what you feed the rabbit.

Rabbits will eat more in cooler weather and less in hotter weather.  So a rabbit needs to get more protein in that lesser amount during the summer.

Also, the higher percentage of fiber your rabbit has in it's diet the more it will typically eat so that it gets the same amount of protein.

Be wary of any info coming from rabbit.org.  I've seen good advice come from them and very bad advice come from them.

Also try to avoid feeding vegetables, greens, and fruit to your rabbit.  Those can give your rabbit diarrhea, make it fat, cause GI stasis, make it lose muscle, etc.  Just because the rabbit likes to eat it doesn't mean it is good for it.

It scares me that some people like the one answerer mentioned is feeding his rabbit some dog food.  Some chemicals that are placed in animal feed that are healthy and safe for one animal can kill another animal.

Rabbit pellets are formulated by animal nutritionists with college degrees that study animal nutrition.  Those formulas are made to give your rabbit a balanced diet.  Many people however think they know better than the people with college degrees that formulated the feeds how to feed their rabbit and start introducing other foods such as vegetables, fruit, etc that cause all kinds of problems.

It is best to stick with just the rabbit pellets and hay.  You wouldn't try telling your doctor how to diagnose his patients and tell him you know medicine better than him.  Why then do people think they know how to feed their rabbits better than the people with college degrees in animal nutrition?

If you want to learn how to properly feed your rabbit, read the book called Rabbit Production by Peter Cheeke.  He is a specialist in rabbit nutrition at Oregon State University and is considered one of the foremost authorities on rabbit nutrition around the globe.

I've been raising and showing rabbits for 26 years, have won numerous Best in Shows, and I studied animal nutrition in college.  I find it funny how so many people that have raised only 2-3 rabbits think they are experts on rabbit nutrition.  Over 26 years, I've raised thousands of rabbits and know what works and what doesn't.

  6. Just till it's full. Only Weasels go pop.

  7. full bunnys dont pop

  8. My answer got lost in the wild! I have Bunny, he is about 10 months old. I brought him in the house some time ago because it killed me to see him in a cage. Litter trained him (easy to do), dogs and cats love him and play with him, he plays games and he is funny just like a cat! Got him neutered so he would stop marking me as his territory!

I feed him Timothy pellets and hay, broccoli, little bit of carrots and apple, clover, dandelion leaves, some other leaves from plants that grow from the wild bird seed, there is always a bowl of pellets that the feed store sold me, and he eats one of the bits in Kibbles 'n' Bits dog food.

He is not fat and will only eat until he is full! My vet says he is doing just fine and passed his well-bunny exam with flying colors.
