Have a get-me-by car that the fuel filler input to the tank is rusted out and leaking gas. Was wondering if I could cut most of it out and put radiator hose in between with hose clamps on each end. Will this stand up to the gas without deteriorating.

  1. no they are not made from the same material. just like u cant substitute a fuel line for a power steering hose.

  2. For a quick fix, yes. It'd be fine.

  3. No it will not. Temporary fix ok but put on the correct hose first chance you get

  4. absoloutly. but i recommend to try a steel braided hose.

  5. Believe me, it won't last and it will deteriorate the hose in a short time.

  6. You can actually buy hose that diameter that is rated for fuel. If you must, the rad hose will work fine for now as it won't be immersed in fuel. You could hit a wrecking yard, as some vehicles used rubber hose from the factory. It would obviously stand up.
