Will a school voucher plan like McCain proposes lead to the proliferation of fly-by-night charter schools?

If something like this goes through, there will by all sorts of scammers patching together "charter schools" at the last minute trying to cash in on federal money. Is the US dumb enough to fall for it?

  1. I'm skeptical of Republican motives (let's get help paying for the private school that we already are taking advantage of), but I don't think charter schools are all that great and I don't think public schools are all that bad.

    To answer your question, not much.  There's probably not enough money in it to encourage too much fraud.

Maybe, but given the state of government schools, who cares.  I'm tired of pouring my money (by force by government goons) toward govenment schools.  At least charter schools will go out of business if they aren't doing a good job.  If I could have my way, schools would be paid for by the parents of the student and the govenment would keep its hands out of my wallet.  Not getting that, I'll go for charter schools.  Remember the  "public" schools were started as a way of getting rid of Catholic schools and it was hoped, Catholics.  Check out the Web address below.
