My 9 years old son was slapped by an adult and of course, he got big palms. The slap also cause my son nosebleed. I can see the palm print on the cheek and the cheek is a little bruised. I am scared that my son teeth will damaged later on and he might ended up having root canal treatment on the side where he got slapped.

  1. Of course it won't, unless this man is a type of superman-gone-bad.

Root canal treatment is completely unrelated to a problem caused by a slap on the cheek. It's impossible (as root canal treatment is a treatment associated with inflammation or infection of the roots, usually an abscess).

It isn't impossible that your son's teeth are mildly damaged, but then again, you'd be looking at a superman-gone-bad and obvious teeth damage (which is highly unlikely with the situation you are describing).

Tooth impairment is the least of your problems. Report that adult to the police!

Hmm... looking at your English, I'm wondering whether you're referring to the cheek or the jaw...

Also, a large palm would call a larger bruise but less damage to the teeth. A smaller palm (supposing the assault was inflicted with the same force) would give a smaller bruise and more damage to the teeth, hypothetically speaking, of course. I'm assuming that the hand was aimed exactly at the area between the jaw and the cheek. A large palm has a type of curve to it which would be the area of the hand which hit that area between the jaw and the cheek - thus meaning, less force inflicted onto the teeth.

  2. Who is this needy b*****d who slapped your son on the cheek so hard?

If it's a stranger, then report them, if it is someone you know, they should not be anywhere near your son.

I have never thought it would damage anyone's teeth but i don't think he'll have to have root canal treatment unless the Roots get damaged.

Seeing as he's got a Bruise, and a nosebleed that is not Good, the bruise will go away and the nosebleed stops. Well i wouldn't worry about it, anyway, there's nout you can do Really.

Then again, if your son is still in pain or it causes any stress or iritation, or if you're still worried, then take him to the Doctor, and call the dentist about his teeth, if you're still worried, book an appointment to check it out.

  3. nahhh the teeth r strongg dun worry

  4. Oh my gosh! That's horrible! x( I feel sorry for your son. =( I hope he's okay.

The thing is, if the slap was very hard, it COULD have damaged his teeth. I've seen people who have been slapped got their teeth knocked loose. >_< I hope the slap you son endured wasn't that extreme!

If he starts complaining about aches and pains in his mouth or toothache, please take him to the dentist.
