Will a sony ericsson K750i bought in Ireland work in Western Australia.?

Heading there in July 2008 and need to have mobile.

  1. You probably won't get coverage outside of the main built-up areas, but otherwise yes.


  2. If you change the sim card for one that works on a network in a local area then it will work, but if you use the one you already have then it will be very expensive.

  3. The phone will work but youll need to buy a local sim card to actually be able to use the phone. You can get them for around $10... that includes $10 of prepaid credits. The phone will generally only pick up service in urban areas, however Australias just picked up "NextG" so when your purchase a SIM card make sure its "NextG" as it will give you extra mobile coverage than a normal SIM. When you buy one dont forget to send your number back home. Oh & it would a smart idea investing in a charger that would fit an Australian socket.
