My father-in-law paints houses for a living and my bf accidentally spilled the paint in the back of the truck while driving. My bf tried useing a water pressure thingy which sprays water really hard (bad idea :/ ) and now the paint is srpayed ALL OVER the back of the truck. His dad told us to use paint thinnner mixed with water to remove the paint. My bf poured the thinner into a thick bucket and mixed it with just a lil water. The thinner is still strong, you can tell by the smell.well anyway, i told my bf not to use the plastic brushes because the bristles will melt, so hes useing a sponge. i dont want him to clean it with that and his bare hands. i told him the thinner is so strong it can peel away the skin from his hands. ( i know from experience) . Im thinking of rubber gloves. will those melt from the thinner?

  1. Paint thinner does not mix with water, so it is pointless to do what you are suggesting.  Most house paint (interior paint) is water-washable latex paint, so just washing out the truck with a hose and a sponge should take care of that.  If the paint was oil based then you have serious problems -- if the inside of the truck is metal, you might be better off just waiting until the paint dries and try peeling it back off.  Try not to work in the truck for a long time if there are lot of paint fumes because you could be asphyxiated.
