will a weight vest help u get faster in speed?

i usually do distance but i wanna try the 200m.my 200m time is 21.11 and thats nowhere near good enough.i wanna get faster and make states

  2. first of all, if you say that your 200m is 21.11 it is good. But w/e....

    And you need to work on being faster:

    a) More powerful stride

    b) Longer stride

    When you start off the starting blocks you push with your foot, then first 10m you will be looking like you are kissing the ground (more or less) and you will be pumping your arms greatly. soon you will be standing straighter up. (this is called "the dig")

    But ya, you need to work on your longer strides, or your powerful steps. So the weights will work, good luck.

  3. A weight vest can be a part of your total exercise program.

    You can wear the vest while doing plyometrics or running stadium bleachers or stairs.

    You should also lift weights and run.

  4. It will aid you in your training, by generating resistance making it harder for you to preform at the same pace as usual. Which in turn makes your muscles work hard promoting growth. Which should speed up your time.

    I would also suggest trying a parachute, it helped me a lot.
