Will a wheel hurt a hedgehogs back like it does guinea pigs?

Nope, wheels are okay for them. They may or may not use it though, and only use non-wired ones or else they can hurt their feet.

Hedgehogs are perfectly fine with exercise wheels, their backs do bend in that direction, while a guinea pig's back does not. Just make sure that the wheel isn't wire, as that could catch the hedgehog's feet and seriously injure him.
