Will a wireless N router work with a 360?

Question

I have a N router and my 360 is currently connected to my desktop that is wireless and the desktop hasa G pci card.....i was wanting to get an N card for my desktop....so if i put in an N card will the 360 still work??? my isp told me 360 is only G compatible

From the wireless "N" routers that I have seen, they are also B & G compatable....just as the previous response, just ensure the settings are set for a mixed network and the Xbox will work with the "G" wireless standard.

The router will have to be put into mixed-mode.  I don't know of any N routers that aren't also capable of G and B.  However, if you do this, sometimes it will reduce your speed across your whole network to G speeds, so be aware.

The other option is to get an N wireless gateway with an Ethernet port on it and plug that into your Xbox.  That way all your wireless is N.

Now, your Xbox doesn't have wireless at all, so you're going to need a gateway regardless.  Look for an N one.

Most N Routers should not have any problems connecting to Games consoles as this is one of their main functions Gaming/media/streaming. N Routers/AP are backwards compartible with earlier wireless products B/G. If you carry one having problems you might want to contact the manufacture to ensure your settings are correct.
