Will adding a waterfall to my ball python's enclosure harm his heath?

I have a very healthy, adult ball python. I know he's naturally an African desert dweller, but I was wondering if adding a waterfall to his enclosure would raise the humidity too high and become hazardous to his health? Anybody out there have one in their tank?

  1. Yes, it could possibly raise the humidity too high. But then again, if you could make it on the cool side of the tank(using cold water) and have an "open" topped enclosure it could possibly work. That way the humidity produced would be less.

Also a ball python needs 50-60% humidity. Not 70% as someone stated above. Pushing 65% during shed is probably as high as I would ever push it without risk of a respitory infection

The links provided below will show proper humidity levels, I will show several.

  2. It will raise the humidity too high.  All he needs is a bowl big enough to soak his entire body in.  They need humidity levels of 60-70%.  Use a hygrometer to measure.
