Will adding an HID conversion kit add strain to my battery/alternator?

  1. yes it will, but most charging systems are (now-a-days) made to kick a55.  the visual difference-how well you can see-will probably not balance with the cost of the hid kit though (unless you can get it for a bargain.).


  2. yes, its not that crucial

    but have it done professionally because my boy did his and kept getting pulled over for "driving with his brights on" because they were not properly aimed- the factory "lens" on the headlight is not designed for HID so the light was scattered and he had to go buy the real conversion kit that came with completely different lenses and had a shop install them- its all good now

  3. No, there should be no added strain to your battery or alternator.

    Most factory light bulbs work at 55 watts.

    most HID light kits use 35 watts of power.

    its the Gas in the HID light that causes the light to be so bright, not the wattage of the bulb.

    Changing to a projector lens will be better, but  its not abig deal cuz at least you will be able to see better.
