the only way you can get a virus from AIM is if someone messages you a file with a virus in it...

I personally use Meebo, (meebo.com) a java site where you can get on AIM without downloading anything or taking any space up on your computer.

so the answer is no, AIM itself can NOT give you a virus

If any of ur friend is infected with aim virus, then u can, becuz what this virus do "It automatically send u a link any link by clicking on the link you get infected", so avoid anything like that which appears unusual.
