  1. air canada at this time, is not planning to get any a380s

they have already preordered the 787 to replace the 767s

    787s were launched/rolled out on 7/8/7 july 8th, 2007

no 787s have been delivered to any operator yet.

  2. The Boeing 787 "Dreamliner" came out last year. If you don't like Boeing planes then there is no point in talking about that plane.  Almost every major country will get an Airbus A380 but you will find them primarily in Asian and western countries. Unless you travel overseas a lot you will probably never fly in an A380.  The A380 is the worlds largest commercial plane and is used for long distance travel such as to Asia, Australia and Western Europe.  The type of traveler that you will find on one of these planes is the wealthy business man.  I have personally worked on both the Dream liner and the A380.  The A380 is a very nice jet but you need to have a longer runway and specially tailored boarding gates.  These differences will not allow some airports to accept the A380.  This will mean that you will see the dreamliner a lot more and could edge the Dreamliner out over the A380 in global sales.

  3. out of the 192 A380's that are on order, no Canadian or American airlines are ordering an A380, this includes Air Canada. though there are two airports in Canada that are being adapted to service the A380, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

  4. air canada would never be able to afford an a 380 and the wating list is way too long it would be estimate time 8years if they did buy one

  5. No, it won't be purchasing an A380 in the forseeable future. The B787 is the latest model boeing has released.

  6. I find your thought process on Boeings quite amusing.  It's like saying that you don't like Honda because their cars have been involved in more accidents than Kias.  They are both good cars.  There are just more Hondas than Kias on the road, so the chances of you being in an accident with a Honda are greater than that of a Kia.  It's the same thing with Boeing and Airbus.

I don't think that Air Canada will be receiving any A380's seeing how they currently have 37 orders on the new 787

  7. i really hope not. i'm a Canadian taxpayer and we have already had to bail Air Canada out a couple of times. when the company can prove they can make a profit then sure but the track record is very poor and with the price of oil how can it be justified.
