Will alicia sacramone be returning to the olympics on 2012?

i know shes 20,but is that old for a gymnast? shes my favorite on the team. what about nastia luikin?

I certainly hope so. I hope Alicia gets to redeem herself in London. Ultimately it will come down to a decision from first the athletes themselves (do I want to put myself through this again), and then from the US Gymnastics coaches, etc.

What I hope everyone understands is that Alicia is an incredible gymnast or she wouldn't have even made the team. Anyone can have a bad night. It is unfortunate that her bad night happened on such an important night. No one feels worse about her performance than she does. I hope people treat her with respect and understanding when she returns to home.

you guys are way too nice. I mean she was supposed to be the leader of this years team but she was on the one that looked most amateur. We need nastia to step up and be the new leader for 2012.

If they qualify for the team they will be. They aren't selected, there is a big meet to determine the gymnastics team for the Olympics. So it is all up to them if they want to continue training and competing : )

I doubt it. Even these Olympics were a big question for her.

WAY unlikely, most female gymnasts move on to college, or go on those tours like the 2002 team did where they can actually get paid.

24 is pushing it age-wise for gymnastics.  It really all depends on if they are still the best of the best by then.

she'll be 24 in 2012, seems a little bit old.  if she does come back, I doubt she will make an impact.  

nastia may still compete, no rumors of retiring yet

Right now in the world of gymnasts Alicia is considered middle aged.  By the time 2012 rolls around she'll be a senior citizen.  She'll be watching on tv like the rest of us.
