Will an American NTSC video tape play in a UK Pal player?

I'm planning on bidding on a video tape on ebay and its aparently an American tape and its NTSC. Does this mean its not going to play in my tape player at home (which is in UK and I think it only does PAL)

  1. No.  The two systems are not compatible.


  2. You can buy the NTSC tape, but you'll have to get it converted to PAL. It won't run otherwise. Likewise DVDs. These materials are zoned. It's fairly expensive to do the conversion. Just get the tape or DVD in the UK. It saves you some money and a lot of agro.
