Will an MP3 player play through an analog audio input jack in a car stereo?

I found a new car stereo that has an "analog audio imput jack" in the faceplate. I'm thinking it's the same as a headphone jack do all I need is a double male ended cable and I can use my off brand MP3 player. The word "analog" scares me for being able to play MP3 (digital) music. Also, being analog will the music still be stereo? Can you tell "analog" scares me? Thanks for your help!

  1. yeah, chances are you will need an RCA to 3.5mm plug( i could be wrong depends on the unit.) analog is nothing to be scared off, its actually very good..

analog sounds amazing with a nice record on a decent system. it sounds so much more pure than digital, its hard to explain but anyone who has heard a record will agree.

it also will be in stereo.

  2. well u can if the radio has a section for aux when u change  to radio or cd player it should say aux then u press play on ur mp3 and it should play but only if it has a aux section and yes u use the analog plug with two male ends
