  1. DVD movie is encoded by MPEG2 standard.

The encoder, resolution, aspect, bit rate, frame rate is fixed.

They lead to the converted files with big size.

Each 4.7GB DVD disc can be burned about 120 minutes movie.

So the DVD file size is determined by movie time length.

If you wanna burn your video onto DVD, you can follow the guide below

    Hope it helps.

  2. It depends the video size, frame size, audio bitrate, etc.

  3. ya it will be double or more the size as its going from mp4 to mp2 which is a less efficient format.

Generally its only practicable to fit 2x 700meg xvid files on a dvd5 before major quality loss issues occur. that means they upsize to about 2 gig each.

  4. Great answer, hansom.

  5. No, once any media has been compressed it cannot revert back to its original file size. This is due to the fact the compression removes parts of the file, first the least important, but as the compression level becomes smaller, the quality becomes less because more important aspects are removed in the compression process. This is why it is a good idea to keep the original format, make a copy, compress to the desired format, and you still have the original good or excellent quality. If you obtained the MP4 in that format, you cannot increase the quality, it is what it is at that point.

Good luck and have a nice day.
