Will an underage drinking ticket prohibit my admission to West Point Military Academy?

I'm wondering if an underage drinking ticket would prohibit my admission into West Point. Anyone out there that knows the in's and out's let me know!!!!

It shouldn't.  Cocaine usage isn't stopping Obama from trying to be commander-in-chief.

Probably will, however if you have an otherwise spotless record and very good grades, maybe.  Doesn't look good because of the competition from thousands of others who do not have such a ding on their records.

I'm not 100% sure if this will have an impact on your application or not.

My brother applied and was accepted to the Naval Academy and while they were doing his background check they found a ticket for theft (ridiculous practical joke gone wrong in a small town) and that almost got him not rejected.

Best advice I can give you is be up front about the ticket in your application.  They're going to find out about it anyway and if they find out after you have chosen to not disclose that information then they'll definitely reject you.
