    Try Avast Home Edition.

    It  is better than AVG and it is less annoying.

    It is a very effective anti-virus program.

  2. If you have a virus then YES, YOU NEED ANTI-VIRUS PROTECTION!!  Once you get some protection (I recommend Trend-micro and Spy Sweeper), do a full scan and remove the virus or spyware that is causing the problem.

  3. Yes it will help. It can find and destroy the virus. I use McAfee anti-virus and SpySweeper for the spy ware.

    There are a lot of good ones out there. Some are free and some you have to pay. I have found that the pay ones actually get rid of the stuff. The free ones will find it and let you know it's there, but the companies want to make money so you have to end up paying to have the virus or spy-ware removed. So I just invest in a good program and pay for the service. Most of the time it is about $20-$40 (USD). and the fee is for the year.

    For running slow there are many causes:

    Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!

    Spyware/Adware

    RAM

    De-Fragmenting

    Etc.

    Below can help you speed up your pc:

    For  IE, click Tools, Internet Options  delete files (offline files) clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want) click o.k., and Restart

    For Firfox, press ctrl+shift+del, and click clean private data.

    Manage your startup:

    Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

    De-Fragmenting

    1. Right click of C Disk.

    2. Click properties.

    3. Click tools tab.

    4. Click "Defragment now".

    5. Click Defragment.

    You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

    Under steps:

    1. right click on the TaskBar.

    2. click the Task Manager.

    3. click the processes tab.

    4. double click the CPU.

    5. find if the "System Idle Process" is max.

    6. if not right click and click end process.
