  1. Absolutely.

The fats and oils will find their way into our cosmetics and toiletries.

Very, very high end couturiers still use whale bone for corset and bustier boning.

And if there's a demand for anything edible--it will arrive quietly and get served up in private clubs/restaurants etc.

  2. i think that will fall on personal chouce, as the frst two answers demonstrate.. its niaive to say that it wont reach the west

look at what china constantly churns out, do we still have realtions with them .. yes ..

busines is business, human rights groups invariably fail against the mighty dollar .. shame ...

  3. No.  The Japanese are aware world opinion is against them on this.  They will not make the mistake of allowing the public relations disaster they have created for themselves becoming even worse.

  4. All the whaling ships should be tracked by our subs and sank.  I've seen humpbacks in Hawaii and it was the most beautiful thing to watch.

  5. What will reach our shores will arrive very covertly or illegally.  This includes whale bone (used in jewelry and scrimshaw art), cosmetics, "health" remedies, etc.

I think it's long overdue that the countries mortified by the actions of the Japanese step up and engage in a serious boycott of that country's products and services.  After all, shaming them will do no good -- they're still in denial and are revising their history books to absolve themselves of the atrocities they committed in WWII.

They is a great link below on how to begin boycotting Japan across the board.

I'd be thrilled to see the Navies of the world intercept these whaling ships, order the crews off, haul them into ports and scrap them.

  6. man they put that stuff in anything anywhere
