so the answer is yes, there will be many earthquakes for the remainder of 2008 and 2009.

Big earthquakes are extremely hard to predict.  They can only use records of past earthquakes and patterns of earthquakes and seismic patterns to know when another one could happen.  It's not like predicting a storm.  You can see weather patterns, and dropping pressure, and movements of air masses to see storms coming.  Earthquake prediction is very different.

But everyone here is right.  There are lots of tiny earthquakes all the time in California and in other parts of the world.
