  1. Flake provides a complete balanced diet, so strictly speaking they will all get by on just flake.

Life span and colouration will improve if you spice up their diet. Even feeding the goldfish garden worms once in a while and you should try to feed live/frozen food about once per week.

  2. all of them will be fine on flake food, except the loaches, which might need algae wafers.  Really, no fish should live on flakes alone.  every now and then, they should be treated to live/ frozen food like shrimp and worms.  even if its only once a month, they need some variety in their diet.

    my fish eat:

    flakes on weekdays

Brine shimp, bloodworm, spinach, cucumber, cooked egg yolk, apple at the weekend.

  3. firstly, lets look at your list.the first 4 can be considered tropical, requiring temperatures of 26c.the rest are coldwater.as for feeding, the first 4 will get to the food before the rest .fish should be fed a varied diet,to keep them healthy and active.

  4. sue however loaches might not eat the flakes try feeding them sinking pellet food however maybe give them a little treat such as daphina or brine shrimp once a week or once a month on holidays too :-)

  5. Flake food should not be a problem, but frozen bloodworms or baby brim shrimp would be a good treat for them about 2 times a week.

You could even get a tank clip and clip an piece of orange or lettuce to it and drop it in the tank for a treat.

You can get the clips at PetSmart.
