Question:

Will anyone agree that the COT has changed everything this season?

Loose is fast is what the COT is all about! The drivers that are running up front every week are the ones that can drive a loose car. I've watched all of these races with the COT and it seems the fast cars come off the corner slideways every lap. Some drivers, even the veterans can't drive a car that is that loose!

I think that Nascar will at some point change some of the spec's on the COT to make it more drivable by the drivers that can't get a handle on it right now! If they don't it's gonna be more of the same!!!

  1. I am a huge nascar fan and I watch almost every race

But this year it is not very interesting at all  fell asleep for the dover race. The cars running single file and there is no real action. They need to take that wing off and goto a fin like on the old cars. The Truck races are the best races and they need to get the cars to drive the same way.

  2. well it isnt the car of tommorrow. its the car of today. its actually really cool. what sucks is the chase for the cup mode.gordon entered that mode leading with 348 points. he then lost the cup.

  3. Yup, it's made a driver who was noted for winning one race a year, and wrecking cars, become the hottest driver in NASCAR. How many times would he have wrecked this year driving an old downforce car. Let's not forget Darlington, as many times as he hit the wall that night, in the old car he'd be at the back of the pack laps down at least.

  4. may be safer but other than that it sucks!

  5. I agree with just about everything you said. I am glad someone else is seeing things the same way. I think some of those older guys that have hit the wall hard a few times doesn't really car to drive "slideways". The COT seems to straighten up better than the old car. The older cars would spin on  around and tag the walls more.

Loose is definitely the key to being fast. That's why Carl Edwards told everyone to "deal with it".

As far as NASCAR changing it? I think as soon as everyone figures out the COT then NASCAR will make changes to the car just to make everything confusing again. I think this is part of their trick is being ahead of the drivers and teams and always keep them struggling to be competitive.

To change it so the drivers can get a handle on the car? I really doubt it. Maybe for certain drivers, but not for everyone.

The biggest thing that I see is that the cars need a better front right tire to compensate for the tire wear on the right fronts for being tight in the front end. It's wearing tires and destroying cars.

It has definitely changed everything. All old notes are out of the door. It's starting from scratch and the notes from the few races last season with the COT.

  6. NASCAR has put its fans through enough changes. Let's just have some stability for a while.

  7. The COT is safer and a lot of drivers are not turning end over end in wrecks but the cars are heavier and bulkier.  I don't really like the splitter in the front either.  I hope they fine tune it a bit for next year.

  8. I do like watching them and I like how they can be saved after hitting the wall or even getting slideways.  I just hope they stay exciting.  Yesterday on SPEED Jimmy Spencer had a great idea, instead of them just running single file and racking up points he suggested no money or points for last place and only increasing the dollar amount and points a minimal amount per position so the drivers would be much more likely to race for the win and NOT just for points, therefore making the race more exciting.  I like that.

  9. Changed it for the worse....most definitely agree.  Every week it looks more and more like F1 & IRL.  Follow the leader, single file c**p.

  10. its good, but and it evens out the playing field. Lyk Dave blaney (who last year w/ out the COT) did horribly but this year hes been in contention for a few wins. Another Examplewould be RYR

  11. Yes the car can take a beating if it couldn't Kyle would be in last place in the standings.

  12. Yes. I like drivers who can hang on to a loose race car. This car is harder to spin out and tougher, both are good things in my opinion. More and more drivers (and crew chiefs) will get used to it as time goes on.
