Yes, they are already beginning to.  Hingis has a lot of points to defend from the French Open onward, and she doesn't appear to be anywhere near the level she was last year, so I have no doubt she'll lose the #1 ranking, probably to Sharapova.

Yes, sooner or later someone will eventually catch up with Justine. Justine is far from her top form lately and suffered a lot of harsh losses this year. She recently withdraws from the Rome Masters, a Tier I tournament. She have a lot of points to defend this year because she did so well last year. If she continues withdrawing from tournaments and making early exits at tournaments, she will eventually lose her No. 1 rank.

Who will take her spot then? Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic, and Serena Williams have a very high possibility of taking Justine's spot. Maria and Ana, ranked 2 and 3 respectively, are getting closer and closer each week to the No. 1 position.
