Question:

Will anyone hire me in banking or finance with a criminal record?

I have two convictions, a DUI for going through a checkpoint with a BAC of only .109, and a 2nd degree burglary conviction from breaking into a friend's house for a prank when I was 19. With a bachelor's degree in Business Management Economics can I get a good job with those showing up on my record? What if I get one or both of them expunged?

  1. If you can get them removed do so.

The only other option is honesty.

Sounds like your "not" a criminal just some one who made poor

choices when you were young and immature.

Since we all have been guilty of that I would be honest and use it to your advantage and how you have learned from those experiences and can apply that experience on what not to do for your job.

  2. get a pardon

  3. no i don't think you will get hired in a bank with the 2nd degree burglary. for a better answer to you question you might want to GOOGLE: Getting a job in banking with a 2nd degree burglary. but to tell u the truth i really doubt you would get hired.

  4. Too much liability on the part of the financial inst. They likely will not hire you despite your degree. Prank or not this is going to follow you and hurt your career.

  5. You will never get hired in banking or finance with the burglary conviction on your record.  Even with an expungement, if you are asked if you've ever been arrested, you have to answer yes and the explanation will sink you.  You'd actually have a better chance getting admitted to the bar.  The DUI shouldn't be a problem.
